Tuscan Japanese Festival Flyer

Redesigned a Japanese Festival Flyer for my Graphic Design I class in the Fall of 2022.

This was the original design for the Tuscan Japanese Festival that I redesigned. For this assignment, I had to include all the information presented on the original flyer, but rethink the organization, as well as come up with a creative design concept. We did not have to include the map or other graphics except the organization’s logos.

I tried to think of Japanese values to inspire my version of the flyer and chose to feature water because of their culture’s heavy emphasis on symbolism, nature, and beauty. I wanted the colors to be cheerful, and the headline to have a handwritten script feel because of the history of calligraphy in Japan. In the end, the result is shown above.
