Book cover created for McKinney Publishing

I was commissioned to create a book cover for Dr. Perry through freelancing, and he gave me a lot of creative freedom to design something fun. This book is about his experiences with his family while they were serving as missionaries in Africa. He provided some pictures of his daughters that I wanted to use, but the resolution was too low, so I decided to illustrate it instead. His daughter is stepping out of a leaf cut out to make it feel personal, inviting, and intriguing. I also kept her face covered by the giant leaf to keep an element of mystery. I used cutouts in the design to give it an element of messiness also. Overall, I felt the design I created fit nicely with his title, and this was a very fun project to work on.
